This is so great! It was exactly what I had needed. I started with a standard choke chain but it was rubbing the skin on my dogs neck, so I upgraded to a choke chain with nylon weaved into the chain links.... still there was unnecessary skin irritation going on but I couldn't use a standard collar because my 86lb American Bulldog would either be choked because his head keeps growing so big, or it would slip off of him if he pulled away from me! This collar is gentle enough on his skin but lets me stay in control of my dog! I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a larger and stronger breed of dog!

This collar closes as the dog pulls, but it doesn't "choke" as much as a chain collar does, because of the canvas collar material. Our 36 lbs hound (rescue) walks very nicely on it, it's easy to take on and off (no "relooping") and it fits her perfectly (3/4 inch). Recommended.
